Ten years? Feels like just yesterday.
In any case, it's nice to be back on such a finely aged platform. Like an old pair of slippers.
If you're reading this now, after all this time, it's only fair to offer you a prize for your attentiveness and patience.
But first, an announcement -
I'd like to take this anniversary moment to officially name The Oscillog for the public record.
What is an Oscillog, exactly?
Well, in topical terms, it is a compound word that I created to bridge the concepts of oscillation (movement), and a travelogue - sort of a special amalgamated idea that indicates either a document of something that is ongoing, or a recording of movement. In conceptual terms, Oscillog is both of these things, and more - it's probably going to be the name for things I haven't even considered yet. It's an open-ended idea, by design, with lots of space left for growth and outward expansion.
For now, however, The Oscillog is a new website that you can immerse yourself in, and contribute to, if you like. It visually and architecturally resembles Wikipedia, yet will also function as an ever-expanding database of information concerning any and all of my creative endeavors - past, present, future. It will be a concise and complete discography, an archive of copy texts, prose and poetry, and a platform for me to directly explain and discuss my work without the need for citations or approval from others.
Right now, there isn't much there - filling out such a database takes time and energy, and that is hopefully where you come in. I've already filled out some basic pages to act, for the moment, as templates for how I'd like the database to look and feel. If you'd like to help grow The Oscillog along with me, create an account there and start submitting information! Editing The Oscillog is exactly the same as editing Wikipedia - any information about the latter will apply to the former - and if you're a particularly great editor and contributor, I'll elevate your account to "moderator" status.
Eventually, The Oscillog will become quite a marvel of information, all detailed and cross-referenced with itself. Fans and curious newcomers alike will be able to explore the site, and easily find more recordings they'll enjoy based on the ones they already like. There are deeper, more long-term plans for The Oscillog as well, but I'd like to keep those close to the chest at the moment - certainly, I've mentioned more than I was able to deliver in the past, and I would not like to do that again now.

Now, I did promise a prize, so here you are - This is a Bandcamp code for Milieu's Butcher Block Andromeda compilation album. Butcher Block was and is a collection of fifty Milieu tracks, unified and sequenced as a retrospective for the project (and an adequate introduction for newcomers) after Milieu celebrated ten years of existence. I abandoned this blog ten years ago today, so it is only fitting to give ten years back upon my return.
Here's to another ten years, where and when I can only hope we'll meet again, in good health and happiness, with the pandemic far behind us and The Oscillog a fully grown library of Brian-formation.

See you in The Oscillog!
